Leona Spackman Lanoy
Our dear sweet mother went on to be with her loved ones on the other side on Feb. 19, 2018. She was born in Trenton, UT on May 15, 1931 to Brigham and Lilian Spackman, the last of their nine children.
She married Ernest Lanoy from Coalgate, Oklahoma on April 17,1950 and from this started a new adventure. They lived in Utah, California, Arizona, and finally settling in Arkansas, where she lived the largest part of her life until Ernest passed away and she returned back to Utah. Where she always loved the Cache Valley Mountains.
Leona was an active member of the LDS faith and held many callings where she was able to use her talents and gentleness to serve others.
She loved to play games and have fun. She could not swim but learned how to water ski. She was not musical but could dance and loved to dance. She always liked to bowl, ride horses, and golf in her own yard. She was good at sewing and enjoyed making things and could crochet.
Leona was known and loved by many as a favorite grandma, aunt, sister, friend, a good neighbor and dearly loved by her children. Her children are Donald (Jan) Lanoy in North Layton, Ray Lanoy in Salt Lake City, Dennis Lanoy in Overcup, Arkansas, Lee Ann (Greg) Van Orden in Grantsville, Karen (Jack) Foster in Farmington, New Mexico. She also had 16 grandkids and 29 great grandkids.
She will truly be missed by all that knew her, but what a wonderful reunion she is having and how happy she is to be able to communicate again with her loved ones that preceded her in death.
