Arlene Purser Coon Shaw died the evening of March 3, 2020, at her residence.
Born Dec. 4, 1935 in Salt Lake City to Clyde and Melba (Purser) Coon. She was the oldest of their four children (Connie Albrecht, Nancy Martinez, and Steve Coon being the other three). She enjoyed growing up on the family farm, helping her dad with the horses and other various tasks.
She was an industrious woman who had a strong desire to try her hand at various jobs including restaurant owner, bar owner, dump truck driver, care-giver, and she even drove cab for a while; she enjoyed success with each venture. She resided in the Uintah Basin for the majority of her adult life.
Arlene and Rockland (Rocky) Shaw are survived by her six children (from a previous marriage to Richard Steinfeldt): Kathy (Harry) Cieslak, Thad Steinfeldt, Barbara (David) Mitchell, Doug (Jodi) Steinfeldt, Bart (Kandra) Steinfeldt, and Dee (Cori) Steinfeldt.
They have many grandchildren and great-grandchildren spread throughout the United States of America. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren fiercely.
Arlene is preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Melba, her husband, Rocky, her sister Connie, and a grandson: Joe Steinfeldt.
At Arlene’s request, a graveside service will be held in lieu of a funeral, April 25 at 3 p.m. at the Pleasant Green Cemetery in Magna, Utah.
