Benito Silva

May 15, 1972 ~ March 11, 2020 (age 47)

Obituary

Benito Silva, 47, beloved father, devoted husband, adored son, sibling and grandfather passed away March 11, 2020 at the Huntsman Cancer Institute.  He was born May 15, 1972 in Guanajuato, Mexico to Jose Jesus Silva and Guadalupe Maria Garcia and settled in Salt Lake City in 1991, where he met his loving wife Angela (his media naranja) and had a family.

Benito lived life with love and determination. He had strong emotions, a spiritual mind, and the biggest heart. He enjoyed his spare time with his grandchildren and family; they were his priority and he always made sure they were taken care of. He read the Bible countless times and loved preaching the word of God to all who wanted to listen. Benito was an intensely hard-working man who had a love for learning about the universe and mysteries of the world, National Geographic, tending to his garden and his newly-found love for dogs. Both on the soccer field and in life, his skills were envied and truly one of a kind. He also coached the way he played – with extreme discipline and with all of his heart. Heaven has gained a warrior.

Benito is survived by his wife Angela, his children, Matthew, Antionette, Benito Jr, and Jessica, his grandchildren, Grace, Zoe, Ella, Layla, and Sebastian along with his dogs, Dante and Smokey, his parents, Jose and Guadalupe, his siblings, Veronica (Luis), Lucia, Lucina, Francisco (Cassandra), Rosa (Jose), and Aaron, as well as his many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Viewing for family and friends will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 257 N. 700 W., on Wednesday, March 18th from 5-8 PM with a Rosary at 7 PM.

Funeral Mass on Thursday, March 19 will be limited to immediate family only.

Burial will be at approximately 1 PM for family and friends in the Mt Calvary Cemetery.
