Bruce Edward Butler

April 27, 1948 ~ July 3, 2020 (age 72)


Bruce Edward Butler, age 72 passed away unexpectedly at his home in Grantsville on July 3, 2020. He was born on April 27, 1948 to Evelyn Cordelia Dunbar and Ellis (Bill) Sandberg Butler. He was raised in Grantsville.

He moved to Rapid City and worked a good portion of his life at Stampers Black Hills Gold before returning to Grantsville. He served his country in the military. Bruce loved car shows here in Grantsville. Loved drums, rock music and taking us girls to street dances when we younger.

He loved his family, especially his grandkids. He loved them on his lap and taking them for rides on his motorized scooter. He enjoyed going to White Rock every chance he got.

Bruce married Lois Dittus in 1978 and together they had five daughters: Janel (Jeremy) Nieman, Kimberly Butler-Camp, Michele Butler, Melissa Coe, Aprille Butler and one son Shannon Holloway.  9 Grandchildren.  Two Brothers: Jessie and Billy and one sister Gerri.

Preceded in death by his 3 brothers: Floyd, Roger, Raddie. 2 Sisters: Joyce and Virginia.

A viewing will held on Wednesday, July 8, from 6-7 PM at the Dalton-Hoopes Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 50 W Main. Grantsville.
